Camping at Gold Basin
We saw this trio of hot air balloons on our drive up to Gold Basin.
Light filtering through the trees at our campsite.
This is from our hike to the ice caves. It's a pretty easy hike, just a mile or so from the highway.
Not that anyone minded the sign...
"Ice? ICE? You mean, as in penguins and Eskimos and igloos and ICE?"
"Why were I come from in the north, we used to have exquisite gourmet rocks..." The top of Mt. Pilchuck would have been the Rock Biter's paradise! Is this Scott, or a grown up Bastian?
The night we arrived at our campsite it was already dark, everything was wet, and the fire did not want to start.
A wad of paper torn out of Scott's notebook finally got things going.
Dinner was chili warmed over the campfire.
The elements of life...earth, fire, water, and the breath of God
Scott...
...skipping...
...rocks.
