Winter Park Vacation

We went to Winter Park over New Year's to celebrate Scott's mom's (60th) birthday! Here we wait for our rental cars.
First our honeymoon, now a ski vacation. We love Winter Park :)
We couldn't have asked for better ski conditions, with the exception of one windy day.
We accidentally skied off one of the runs, making our way through the trees. We both fell, but Tracy had the camara.

Speaking of refueling...we all took turns throughout the week preparing dinners. Scott and Tracy made cheese fondue one night, only instead of a fondue pot, they used a crock pot.
"Gromit, that's it! Cheese! We'll go somewhere where there's cheese!"
Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Mom...
...and Kim...
...and Tyson, happy birthday to you!
Tyson came from Aspen to stay with us for a few days. We had grand adventures, starting with cross country skiing.
Scott wasn't as excited about cross country skiing as Tracy was, but he went to humor her.
And she was humored.
Tyson tries to get the hang of things.
A slight spill in preparation for a huge spill later, involving a front somersault (which unfortunately was not captured on film).
As we followed the path uphill,
we came across this cross.
This is apparently a popular spot for weddings. Had we only but known...
Where is everyone else?
The moon looked like a pinhole cut out of the sky. It was a perfect full moon.
God painted some amazing colors in the sky that night.
Mountains aglow in the soft moonlight
One night, we all went sledding.

"I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." -Jesus
On New Year's Eve around 10:00pm, we heard--and felt--loud sounds just outside our condo. Mom and Tracy went to investigate, discovering showers of fireworks in perfect view through a bedroom window. It was a New Year's surprise! (They must have been celebrating eastern standard time...).
The grand finale

On the way back to the airport, our path was blocked by an avalanche that fell over the only direct route from Winter Park to Denver. In fact, Scott's family made it through okay only an hour before we left. We had to take an alternate route in the opposite direction. But God must have been watching over us, because we still made it safely, and caught our flight just as it was boarding. In the lyrics of a song we were listening to all that week by Nickel Creek, "You don't have to move that mountain, just help me Lord to climb it. You don't have to move that stumblin' block, just show me the way around it."
