Christmas & Vacation

What's Christmas without baking? Here Tracy makes chocolate cookies for her and Scott's December movie night. The movie of choice was 'Family Man.'
Where there are green cookies, Scott is not far behind. Here he gets caught green-handed!
Since we would be traveling on Christmas, we opted not to get a tree this year. Instead, we had a Christmas mantle--we got real garland to decorate it with. And the stockings were hung....
A reminder of the reason we celebrate Christmas
Scott plays with one of his gifts, the board game Taluva.
We traveled to Illinois on Christmas Day, and stayed for two weeks. It was a whirlwind tour of the parents! It seems we only brought the camera out for the dads (sorry moms!). This picture is the dinner table at Scott's dad's house, pre-dinner.
The chefs, Linda and Kim, are hard at work.
Dad is also hard at work...taste-testing.
Mona Lisa smiles at the camera as I take a picture of the tree.
Scott reads, Jason relaxes.
Dad and Linda open the gift we brought, Firefly.
On our way to Tracy's dad's house, we stopped in Chicago for some city ice skating (per Tracy's request). Here is a lamppost at the rink.
And here we are, after bugging a woman to take our picture.
Tracy skates.
Scott skates...watch out little kids!
Oops...(Scott really didn't run him over, I promise).
After a veeerrrry long and stressful drive in near white-out conditions where we almost stopped before reaching our destination, we finally make it to Tracy's dad's house in Argenta. Here Dad and Jackie open the gifts we brought from afar.
One gift was the Moon Handbook for Washington state--just a slight hint that we want them to come visit us!
Dad looks at the map of Washington lighthouses...yet another hint :)
In addition to visiting all four sets of parents, we attended a wedding at our alma mater in Champaign. Here Scott gets ready.
As does Tracy.
Tracy's friend Kris was the bride. Here she walks down the aisle with her dad.
The groom, Ryan, waits for his bride in anticipation.
A group shot at the reception
We were so thankful to spend time with our good friends Margie & Devin, and finally got to meet their new baby girl, Caroline!

We dance to celebrate a new marriage, and our own.
