Lake Stevens Half-Ironman
Tracy has been a member of the
Team Fastt Triathlon Club for two years now, and has been training for the Lake Stevens Half-Ironman since January. To read more details about her race, go to her
race report.
Tracy's triathlon gear laid out and ready to go...triathlons take a lot of preparation, especially for longer distance races.
Lake Stevens is about an hour north of Woodinville. Not only is it a great race course, but it's also pretty close to home! However, we still ended up staying at a friend and teammate's house, Marci, because the less we have to drive, the more we get to sleep.
Tracy stands in front of the swim course the day before the race. It's the calm before the storm....
There is strength in numbers...Tracy and Serene--teammates and good friends--show their strength and numbers!
The race has begun. Spectators watch as half-Ironman hopefuls swim 1.2 miles.
Serene (a strong swimmer!) exits the swim course first.
Tracy's not far behind.
Tracy begins the 56-mile bike course.
Pictures make triathlons seem much shorter than they actually are! Here Tracy transitions from bike to run.
Serene perseveres on the run.
Tracy, smiling and waving after seeing Tyson with the camera. The smiling didn't last too long, however....
Another teammate, Nikki, on the run.
Tracy is officially a half-Ironman! Her goal: 6 hours. Her finish time: 5:59:59. Way to go!
Serene is also a half-Ironman!
Two very happy half-Ironman finishers. "As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another" (Proverbs 27:17).
Scott deserves a medal for waking up at 4:00am, and enduring the sport of triathlon watching. What a trooper!
