Frank Comes to Town!
After living in Washington for over four years, Scott's good friend Frank finally came out to visit us! We had such a fun time, and realized just how much we miss having Frank around.
One of our first activities with Frank was visiting the Woodinville wineries. We went to Columbia Winery first.

We did some wine tasting. Cheers!
After Columbia, we went across the street to Chateau Ste. Michelle.
Is the camera slightly out-of-focus, or is our vision getting a little blurry?
Grapes in front of Chateau Ste. Michelle. Although the wineries in Woodinville don't actually grow their grapes here (sad, I know), CSM has a few vines out front for ambiance. Most of the grapes are shipped in from the Columbia Valley region.
A peacock walks the grounds of Chateau Ste. Michelle.
Scott and Frank walk the grounds of Seattle. We were walking to a spa in Seattle, where Frank treated us all to massages. It was a nice surprise!
It was a beautiful sunny summer day in Seattle. Here is the space needle against the vibrant blue sky.

Our next stop was the Seattle Public Library's Central Library, which many people have recommended as a place to go visit while in the city. We took the Monorail to get there.

Here we are in the library! It's made of glass and steel, and is architectually different than any other library we've ever seen.
A classic Frank expression. What exactly is he thinking??
Scott and Frank relax on the not-so-comfortable couches on the top (11th) floor of the library.
From the 11th floor, Scott watches people playing bocce ball on top of the roof of the building next door.
And in the children's section of the Seattle Public Library, we learned a very important lesson, and even got to see toilet paper from around the world.
This is what the library looks like from the outside.
We made a brief stop at the Pike Place Market, but we didn't last long because we were exhausted and needed to have enough energy to dance later that night.
This is our one and only picture from dancing in Seattle (we went twice). We don't actually know the strange man behind us, or what his expression means....
The next day our friends Andrew and Heather had several people over for food, football, and games. Here Heather is playing a game called Kubb--The Viking Game (pronounced KOOB). It's described as a cross between bocce ball and horseshoes.
Frank and Scott wait their turns to play.
Tracy tries (unsuccessfully) to knock down the Kung pin for the win.
Scott takes a turn while everyone looks on.
Some guys take a break for berry tasting. They must have been hungry.
And what's a visit to the Mikula's without going to see Snoqualmie Falls?

Frank and Scott play amid the roots.
We hiked to the bottom of the falls and past the warning signs to climb on all the rocks. Here Frank looks as though he's about to trample an unsuspecting little boy....
Scott and Frank make their way down to the rocks.
Scott wanted to take a picture of this tall pile of rocks. Must be something to do with TALL things.
Snoqualmie Falls is also tall (270 feet, to be precise). Frank at the foot of the falls.
It rained a little while the sun was out. Hence this rainbow. I'd like to say the couple at the end of the rainbow is us...but it's not.
Frank and Scott, together again. Yay!
