Winter Fun
There was a lot of snow this winter, and we had lots of fun playing with it, and in it.
We attempted to capture the falling snowflakes--they were big and beautiful.
The Christmas tree. Can you find the two eskimos? They came all the way from Alaska (thanks, Mom)!
This is our unconventional advent "wreath," with the Bible opened up to the Christmas story.
Snow makes Tracy happy.
Come Christmas morning, not only did we have lots of snow, but the power also went out. We had many grand plans, but alas, they were not to be. But despite the conditions, Tyson ventured out to our house so we could all be together on Christmas Day. If we can't have power, at least we have each other! Here Tyson and Scott shovel a place for the Mini.
Tyson, one with the snow
We, of course, had to make a snowman. And not just any snowman...
It had to be big.
And tall.
Tyson gets comfortable in his hand-crafted snow chair.
He admires our creation--King Flake.
Scott then decided to bring out the slingshot. We had fun shooting snowballs at the trees, icicles, over the house....
Watch out!

Scott decided King Flake needed to be taller. We even had to use a stepstool.

Soon after Christmas, Dad and Linda came out to visit.
We had many an adventure in the snow. Some not so pleasant, like scraping the car.
While they were visiting, we made a trip to the tire store to get tire chains so that we could go skiing the next day. We got stuck going home from the tire store and had to use them--but when we went to put them on, they didn't quite fit. Apparently, the store gave us the wrong size. We then proceeded to push the car out, just so that we could drive back to the tire store to exchange the chains for the correct size. Needless to say, by the week's end, we were all pros at putting tire chains on the car.
Our brief ski stint. The weather was incredibly windy and miserable, so we didn't last verylong.
We spent some time in Leavenworth, Washington. Here everyone relaxes in the room after a tough day of driving.

We tasted some wine at the
Icicle Ridge Winery tasting room in Leavenworth. It comes very highly recommended by Tracy. But it's also a bit expensive because they produce wine in small batches.

Our time with Dad and Linda was short, but very sweet.
